National Signing Day at MOSDOH
Two weeks ago, I reported about this critical step of helping student members “Level Up” their membership as they graduate. At that time we were at UMKC. This week MOSDOH was in the spotlight, and things went swimmingly. We followed the same game plan and saw 81% of the D4s convert their membership that day. Everybody loved their free swag and a chance to win bigger prizes. Congrats to Crystal Eshbach, Tanweer Syed and Alexis Fritz for their winning touch. Of course we also tried to capture the winning smiles of those at the end of a long dental school journey.
In between all this Dr. Hallie Lillmars spoke at a Food for Thought and did a great job fielding many questions about her choices along her 10-year post-grad career path.
Later that evening MedPro hosted a reception at Schlafly Bottleworks where we enjoyed more frivolity celebrating the D4s. They really got into the putting contest where the grand prize was a rare Benny Fitz mega mug. Congrats to Slav Danlylk for surviving until the end. Many others won some coveted Benny Fitz playing cards and even broke them out for a spirited game of BS. It was a great day celebrating these talented new members.
Gavel Passing in Springfield
Last night Vicki Wilbers and I joined MDA President, Dr. Jeremy Bowen, as guests of the Greater Springfield Dental Society for their combo officer installation and New Dentist social. Jean Harmison, ED for GSDS, always puts on a top-notch affair. This one at the toney Traza bar included some fancy food options and a flaming drink called the Jaguar Margarita. I said “yes, please!” It was good to visit with both familiar faces and new faces. Special shout out to Duckett and Ladd for sponsoring the event. When we got down to business, Dr. Bowen honored outgoing President, Dr. Tara Cash, and swore in the new officers: President, Dr. Carla Duff; President Elect, Dr. Whitney Bair; Vice President, Dr. Ashley Popejoy; and Secretary/Treasurer, Dr. Cheryl Haley.

Waterfalls Galore
Last week I was being a slacker while hiking in North Carolina and taking in 12 waterfalls. It’s gorgeous country, so I’m happy to share just one photo. I’ll spare you the rest.
The Week Ahead
I see a few more staff taking vacation time and no big events on the calendar, but the work will go on even without a blog post. Enjoy all your proms, weddings, graduations and special days during May including today which is Cinco de Mayo. Margaritas for all!
