Last night at the Affinia Clinic/St Louis campus, the Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health celebrated their 10th anniversary. I was unable to attend but certainly join in wishing them well. I had just started at the MDA in 2011 when news surfaced of a new private dental school opening in Kirksville. There was some concern over a new didactic approach with split campus locations. But time has shown this approach produces excellent providers, many of whom are strong leaders in the MDA. Today, Dean Dr. Dwight McCleod leads an established institution and contributes in many ways to improve oral health in Missouri. Congrats to him, his team, and all the MOSDOH grads and dental students.
The Week Ahead – Move Over Mickey, ADA SmileCon Takes Over Orlando
Next week Vicki Wilbers and I will join an official delegation of 14+ MDA members plus many others from Missouri and around the nation for the annual ADA SmileCon event and ADA House of Delegates. I have not attended this conference since 2011 in Las Vegas, so I’m excited to see what’s new and hang with our fine Missouri members. Plus there are so many changes on the horizon, so I’m happy to listen into the larger discussion and see what actions arise. We will be gone next week so the blog will be delayed but when it returns there will be ample reports from the action.
